Where's the watersports?

go on ken’s route then side with colt & jessie whenever the option presents itself.  you’ll eventually get an option for a water sports scene.  you can also go on hiro’s route, similarly hang out with atri instead of hiro, ace the memory game, and eventually you’ll get another piss scene

Definitely one of the greats in terms of furry visual novels, up there with Adastra and Remember the Flowers. Great storylines, pacing, and of course CGs~. My favorite storyline has to be Hiro's (little guy is so cute). Can't wait for more updates in the future!

👌. Fucking awsome.

this game is genuinely too good. I started on Gabe's route though so now we wait will I begin the others.

Also spoiler for Gabe's route

(some of my "observations" may seem juvenile but I played through it all in one day)

The reveal was so visceral. I don't know if it was just me, but Gabe's route was so clever in the way it swept me up in my feelings. When Grey was feeling peer pressured, so was I, because the group was genuinely starting to grow on me and I wanted to fit in. Then the fallout that occurred with Gabe, I really did need to hear his side to fully get it, and it crushed me. Also the stuff with Derek made me sick but it's also the way the game gives you all the pieces, that made it even easier to brush things down to coincidence as if maybe this is a red herring or maybe I'm overthinking or there's no way it's THAAAAT bad but then boom all the excuses get swept out from under you and you actually have to face the consequences for your blissful ignorance right beside Grey because while literally everyone was telling me something was wrong, the time updates made me feel like, it's ok it's ok. just a little longer, after all he's continued to say he's a lizard of his word. (WHY TF DID I TRUST THAT?????) Also bringing in Derek's brother was a brilliant move because he actually seems like someone to be afraid of instead of Derek who was mainly introduced as some petty nerd which furthers the doubt that he genuinely did all the stuff we learn about. The note in fragments made me want to hurl. I feel like Gabe's absence for most of the final part of day three really hit home how alone it all felt then how desperate. Gabe really does become Grey's rock throughout most of the story the only thing is I wish I could support him more. Ok OK I've droned on way too much, but the musical scores are the last thing I want to praise about this beyond clever route. Their song fucking slapped. Thank you, my rant is done.

I'm already looking forward to the next update, What happened to Ken made me cry and laugh at the same time.

Warning!!!! Spoiler!!!!

How can i get photo 3 and 4 on page 11 in hiro's route

(+1)

Just stick to hanging out with Atri as much as possible from the start of Hiro's route, you should get the scene simple enough once you get an option for a nsfw scene after going to the bar with him.

(+1)

^ pretty sure that u also might need to get a perfect score on the memory game earlier on but don't quote me on that

Thx <3

Im gonna need an update to ken asap, bawled my eyes out i fear

I'm in dire need of more of that beautiful sunny 80s California vibe Gabe's route has going on

(1 edit) (+2)

Got it, eventually we'll learn about the dual souls but for now, we'll take Virgil's power for ourselves

Edit: The Dual Souls reminds of Echo except the Endings are good

Absolutely love the update, I'm curious though, is Takoda getting an update next?

(+1)(-1)

Is there by choice if you could put a music gallery for the game? Bc some of them does hits me sometimes vibe to them or even touching to the heart to listen to them <3

There already is one in the game! It's in Archives > Jukebox

Fuck... I knew it would happen, it didn't make it hurt less, i actually felt like shit after finishing reading the update and all i could think about was Colt screaming "liar", i couldn't take it.

need help finding the following

- fragment 39

- CG Ken route pg 19 top middle, 22 top middle, 22 bottom right, and 25 top right

Unsure about the fragment, but for the CGs, pg 19's can be found by following Colt and Jess' route until the red choice, where you must choose to follow Ken and Jean. 22's top middle I believe is the same as getting the top right cg, but picking "best friends" at the last choice. 22 bottom right is...I think going Takoda's/Ken's route and choosing to stay with Colt and Jess for the red choice? I'm not sure, I can just tell that it's the same cg as the next one, except Grey doesn't wear the same clothes. And the last one is just doing Takoda's route and choosing to stay with Colt and Jess on the red choice.

do you know how to found cg pg 11 top middle in mark's route?

***SPOILERS ahead for Mark, Ken, Gabriel and "The Path" storyline*** I LOVE THIS GAME SO MUCHHH

This is an incredible VN holy moley. All of the characters are super complex and I adore them deeply - so far I've played the Ken, Gabe, and Mark storylines to their most current state, as well as "The Path" extra story. The art is some of the best I've ever seen in a VN. Dialogue is well-written and punctuated effectively with little movements of the sprites on screen, which I really appreciate and lends to the immersive quality of the game. And THE MUSIC cannot be understated!! It's so good and does an amazing job of accentuating the moods in every scene, and the tunes are quite memorable too! More than a few times I've caught myself humming some of the songs here. And, for all of his faults, I have loved playing as Grey - really makes me prefer this sort of "roleplay as this established MC" vs. the self-insert MC that a lot of other VNs have going on. Again, it's so immersive! Fantastic work, cannot wait to play again and again :D

---------

Ken's story was the route I played first, and good lord it's a banger, too (Spoiler alert: they all are). He might be the best-written character in here. I was immediately drawn to him from the bits we see of his soft side in the prologue, and I'm SO glad his story got to explore that and find some closure in that side of him he seems to repress. He's got so many sides to him - sure he's standoffish and rather toxically masculine at face, but he's actually extremely smart, thorough, and thoughtful if you pay attention, too. Discovering the details of his horrific past gives way to so much understanding as to why he's so guarded and why he's constantly at war with himself, and getting to exactly some well-deserved Revenge was so fulfilling!! I'm very excited to see where the rest of his story goes <3 I do have some questions I hope get answered regarding some of the minor characters in his story (particularly Takoda and "The Entity" and their level of involvement here, as well as the singer woman at The Salty Dog). Overall, it was fantastic!

Gabe's route is the next one I played, and it definitely felt like a bit of a weight off after the seriousness of Ken's story.  Something I did really appreciate being present here was the time-travel shock on Grey's part. Given the setting of Ken's story, I could understand why it wasn't as much of an issue there, but here in the 80s it's definitely MUCH harder to ignore. I loooooved meeting Gabe's family and friends, his Abuelita is so adorable. The D&D segment was so much fun, and having everyone's little animated character doodles was cute as hell, and it worked as a vehicle to better understand Gabe's relationship with his group of friends here. I just want to give our insecure shark bro so many hugs. The latter half of the story felt almost like a Scooby-Doo plot that got obscenely morbid and terrifying, and I was left with FAR far more questions than answers by the end of it. It was quite a cliffhanger which was a bit upsetting (IS HE OKAY?!), but I'm fully invested in where things go from here!!

The last route I played was Mark's, and I found it to be maybe the most intriguing so far, given that (as far as I'm aware) his plot involves Virgil more directly than the others I've played, and I suppose that's the element of this story I'm most interested in demystifying. I found Grey and Mark's dynamic very interesting, though definitely also toxic as hell and a bit gut-wrenching at times, too. I really enjoyed the other characters that appeared in this storyline too. I'll have to go back and see what changes if I go a different way with things in regards to those characters. It felt like the dialogue with Mark's story had the most branching options, and the most play with the concept of VN dialogue as well (bringing up that thing). It was also super real to see how someone else might mentally deteriorate from going through/witnessing Virgil stuff. You'd think Grey would be more brain-broken after what he's gone through with it himself, but damn if he ain't a trooper and a half. That boy has some FORTITUDE, for better or for worse. The ending of this one blew my fuckin mind, and I'm honestly terrified to see where things go next, in a good way of course.

It was superbly enjoyable to try and piece together the details of Grey's past while playing the main storylines, and then the "The Path" just hits you like a TRUCK with all the details of That Character's past. Definitely had to take a couple days after that one just to process what I'd seen there, god that one is brutal. And while I'd grown to despise Virgil and his sadistic trickery throughout the events of the main story, "The Path" kindddd of made me understand what role he could be playing here for Grey. In what I've played thus far, I have opted to go the "romance" route for all main characters (I'm gay as hell, what do u want me to say), but I'm becoming curious how that involvement will affect things for some of these characters after gaining that insight on Virgil's possible motive(?).

Overall, I've been unbelievably happy with the experience this game has given so far!!!! Thank you so much for creating such a beautiful game. Seriously, you all are maestros with this stuff, amazing amazing work :) The only, ONLY gripe I have is that there aren't enough pages for saves, in my opinion. Unless I'm missing something, I've filled all 9 pages up just playing the 3 routes I've done so far. I reallllly want to do Hiro's route as well (and I still will regardless), but I'm a dirty little save-scummer who wants to enshrine all my favorite moments in a save file and I'm out of room currently.

Gripe rescinded, I've just discovered the arrow keys lead to additional save pages! silly me

Can someone help me find out how to unlock fragment 53 in Mark's gallery? Page 9 and the fifth slot. I feel like I've tried everything but I just can't figure it out

(1 edit) (+7)

I keep wondering what huge massive awful thing Gabe did since every other person has had some seriously messed up thing they did in their past and or massive character flaws but Gabe just seems like a meek good boy... man I feel like we are being setup for the mother of all shocker reveals. dang you Nikko and your excellent world building, character developing, and story telling skills.

This visual novel has landed itself in my own internal list of furry visual novels that I keep asking to myself "How is this not funded by a large company with too much money, its so freaking good?!".

(+1)

I have to ask. One of the OST's songs, the piano part specifically, has a tune that sounds similiar to promise from silent hill 2. Curious if it was an inspiration for it? If so, that's kinda cool

Does anyone know how to get Mark third image when he is in the *spoilers* elevator with grey? i have the one where Vergil grabs him but not the third one ;x

Please can someone help me? I'm missing a few images from Gabe's gallery and don't know how to get them. Specifically they're the ones right before the band practice. Thanks to anyone who'll answer me

Think this one's just from being Gabe's boyfriend and choosing to play video games before band practice instead of working out.

are any routes done

(+1)

None are done. I have played all the routes so far & I think at least two (panther & dog) might be halfway done.

(Spoilers regarding The Path side story)

When it was initially released, did it have a CG for when "it" happened? Idk if it was added in later or it was always there but my mind just blocked it out sometime after, which I think is equally likely considering it fucked me up so much that even nearly 2 years later I still often cry during the rare times my thoughts end up wandering onto it (ADD can be quite a curse sometimes) and I only really considered this because when the gallery was added I remember stumbling on the CGs for 'that' while I was checking which ones I had and being like 'I DON'T REMEMBER THOSE'

Hi! I’ve been trying to download the Android APK, but I keep getting a "forbidden" error near the end of the download. I’ve tried multiple browsers, used a VPN, and even cleared space, but nothing works. I don’t have access to a PC—only a phone. Is there any chance someone could share a Google Drive or Mega mirror for the APK? I’d really appreciate it! Thanks in advance.

Are there any actual nsfw or not so ik if I can play it while not-so-privatetly

Yeah, there should be. Quality game tho

I just finished the most recent version of Ken's route and wanted to share some thoughts on this visual novel as I can't stop thinking about it.

Before I begin I just want to note that I first downloaded this game about a year ago, tried Ken's route, got traumatized and put off by his abrasive personality, and since the game was at such an early stage I kind of left it in the dust.

For some reason the game popped into my head again recently and I saw it had received quite a few updates. I sighed, braced myself and gave it another go. And thank fuck I did.

Although I've only played Ken's route so far (as he is by far the most intriguing character to me as a new player) I am already impressed by the themes, genres, art and writing styles, and the clever use of simple techniques to make the experience more interesting. I just want to break down my thoughts here before I try any of the other characters.

1. Overall narrative and writing style

I think a lot of people gravitate to this VN because it blends horror, romance, trauma, humour and what appear to be genuine, human struggles. I am actually impressed by how well the different themes and genres mix together, even if the game leaves me traumatized and thoughtful at times.

One thing I particularly like is the pacing and the "show, not tell" philosophy. I like that the writing takes its time to not only establish characters and scenes, but also spend just the right amount of time on them - many VNs tend to either rush through their story, or linger on certain moments for no good reason.

Another thing I really like is how the story always keeps me on my toes and while some scenes and characters are distracting, others are disorienting in a very satisfying way, implying there's a greater mystery and horror to the narrative. The mystery and supernatural aspects elevate the story and I'm genuinely curious where it's gonna go.

What I don't like about the story is how side characters from Grey's past seem thrust into it - it feels jarring, even if it starts to make sense down the line. I totally understand that the story is meant to make sense after playing all routes, but taken in isolation the experience can be disorienting. For that matter I'd say the story could have been a bit more concise and some of the extra characters feel a little unnecessary or superfluous (at this stage anyway). I totally get this is a big, sprawling story across time and space, but I feel like the cast and the writing could have been a bit tighter for more impact (sorry but I mostly don't care about the New Orleans characters :( )

Nevertheless, I think this is probably one of the best furry/BL VNs I've read, ever. I'm so pleasantly surprised to see such mature and interesting narrative choices, at times I'm genuinely hooked and can't wait to see what happens next. Good job!

2. Characters and choices

As I've said I only ever played Ken's route (for now) but I think I've a good understanding of the quality of the character writing.

First of all, Grey is probably one of the most interesting VN protagonists, at times a bit too interesting perhaps. I love that he has his own baggage, his own mistakes, his own flaws, virtues and vices - I really feel like I'm "roleplaying" as a Possum with a fleshed out personality. Unfortunately at times I feel like his own backstory interrupts the flow of the romance/dating route and it feels like we are forced to interact with story content that doesn't feel very relevant, even if it becomes moreso as we play along. I think this is just a personal preference, but again: character count could be tighter.

I also like the choice of making Grey bisexual (did not expect that, I think it's cool) and allowing him to befriend his romance options. I swear, between Ken's two scenes in the last update I genuinely think the friend choice is so much sweeter and more heartfelt, and leaves the door open for romance developing in the future. It somehow feels more appropriate for Ken, even if I absolutely think Grey loves him as more than a friend.

The friend choice also deeply resonated with me as I have a similar relationship with my best friend - we are intensely intimate and trust each other, and we've even fooled around, even if he's straight. It's a very strange but ultimately pure relationship in its honesty, simplicity and intimacy. In this regard, you completely nailed how one becomes best friends with a bicurious straight guy.

The other characters are all very well-written and I like how layered they are - especially the love interests. I've already skimmed some of the other comments and am happy to see that Ken's not the only "fucked up" and multi-faceted character. I genuinely think your sense of character depth is really good, without overwhelming the player/reader in the early parts of the routes.

The last thing I want to mention is choices. VNs often run into a problem here: you want to give the player some choices, but they often feel superfluous and obvious. This isn't entirely the case with Burrows, but let's just say that while some choices were very impactful, others felt very "meh". I know writing branching storylines is very hard so this is honestly not a big issue for me, but I wanted to mention it. I play VNs primarily as linear stories, just because I know that they're often designed with "good choice vs bad/stupid choice" in mind, and if there is ever a branching path it's easy to experience both branches with a quick replay. So I'm not super bothered, but wanted to mention it.

Also a quick side note: I feel like Grey should have more dramatic reactions to technologies and lifestyles in the different routes. He's literally a time traveler (in a way) so I'd definitely emphasize his shock at seeing certaint things!

3. Art style

I love your art style. I really do. It's very dreamlike and painterly while still remaining defined and readable enough. I like the colours, I like the choice of scenes for the art, I like the variety of angles and aesthetic choices. Visual novels live and die by the art they present so this is obviously a critical point for many players - and in your case the art is just superb! I am always excited when a new CG appears, whether it's a story scene, a sex scene, or a horror piece. All work really well, though I've a particular weakness for the dream sequences.

My only criticism is I wish I had a way of "sorting" the CGs in the album, at the very least between SW and NSW, or in other categories.

4. Presentation and creative direction

What makes Burrows so memorable for me is really two things: the great UI and the small animations.

I really can't stress enough how the UI can elevate a visual novel (I'm a UI designer myself and really value people putting effort into that). It's really cool that we can see a timeline of all the events in the story (implying all routes are interconnected/important), and that we get auxiliary content in the form of notes or photographs. I like the overall aesthetic, usability and content in the UI/systems and I'm looking forward to you polishing them further.

The animations and sounds are what makes this VN such an engaging experience. I'm not gonna lie: I sometimes get bored playing VNs as sprites cycle through the same set of poses and I read individual text lines as opposed to blocks of text (which would be more comfortable as a reading experience). So forgive me if I get super excited when I see the developers taking the time to actually time text responses and animate them based on the dialogue. So. Fucking. COOL.

It's something so simple yet so effective. Make certain words/characters bounce or tremble. Make the game delay a line delivery to show a real pause in the conversation (btw at first I thought I had to click, but then I learned these are intended pauses). Pan the camera sideways or upwards on a CG, creating movement and dynamism. Fuck, add poetry and music as well while you're at it!

(also the sound effects are fire, especially in the horror scenes)

I'm genuinely delighted and entertained by all the small touches both in regular dialogue lines and special CG moments - something as small as camera movement/panning and text animation can make the experience just so much more engaging. When things on my screen are moving and conveying something my brain is instantly rewarded with a hit of dopamine and I'm instantly refocused on the content. This means I generally don't rush through any dialogues and actually enjoy the intended pace of the delivery, like a play. I love this, I wish more visual novels would do this. It's something so small, yet so impactful.

Also, how dare you guys put actually good music and even a real performance in the game?!

Final verdict:

Yeah this is good. I can't wait to play more and goddamit Ken is my baby and all the trauma and abuse I suffered through were 100% vindicated and justified. The payoff was worth it. He's my kitty and I'd do anything for him!

10/10 I can't wait to also get traumatized by the other love interests.
